Lester Huston Obituary
Lester D. Huston was born February 14, 1930 in a half dugout in Cimarron County, OK to Alfred C. and Pearl Huston. He went home to be with Jesus on July 9, 2014. Lester received his education in Boise City, OK graduating from Boise City High School in May 1948. He enlisted in the United States Air Force that summer, serving four years, most of it being in Germany during the Berlin Airlift. He married Shirley Boyd of Festus, MO in October of 1952. He continued his education by attending Oklahoma A & M in Okmulgee, OK and then went on to DeVry Institute in Chicago, IL. After graduating from DeVry, he accepted a job in Ft. Worth, TX helping to develop the B-58 bomber. In 1959, he moved his family to Denver to work for Martin Marietta. In 1965 he was one of the first 21 hired for the new IBM Plant and retired from there 25 years later. Lester and Shirley enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends in AZ during the winter where Lester volunteered 20 years at Baseball Spring Training. Lester loved his family very much and was always glad to be with them. He attended and served the Lord in his local church all of his life. Lester is preceded in death by his parents, brother Lewis and sister Louise. Lester is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 61 years, sons Ron & Cindy Huston of Lakewood, CO, Steven & Jill Huston of Aurora, CO, Robert & Susan Huston of Longmont, CO and daughter Mary Struthers of Longmont, CO, 11 grandchildren, 9 in-law grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and his sister Lucille Moore of Amarillo, TX. Graveside committal will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 10:15am, Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Shelter C. A Memorial Service will follow at Faith Baptist Church, 833 15 th Ave., Longmont, CO at 2:00pm Tuesday.
