Millard Fairchild Obituary
Reverend Millard E. Fairchild died June 27, 2014 at Sterling House of Longmont. He was 79 years old. He was born December 26, 1934 in Highland Park, Michigan to George Henry and Vera (Scarborough) Fairchild. He moved with his family as a young child to Texas. Millard grew up and graduated high school in Dallas. He graduated from Southern Methodist University, and while at SMU he felt the call to the ministry. He earned a Masters of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology in Dallas and was ordained a Methodist minister. Millard married Francine A. Daniels on June 19, 1953. They moved to Longmont in1999. He served several Methodist churches in Texas and Colorado with his last parish at Mead United Methodist Church. Millard was currently a member at Longs Peak United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Board of Directors for Emmaus in Colorado. He is remembered as a man who dedicated himself to a "life of service and living the Christian faith". In addition to his ministry Millard served the communities where he lived. In Mabank, TX he was a volunteer fireman, he was involved with the Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Boy Scouts of American, having earned the rank of Eagle Scout himself, and as a Ham radio operator assisted with disaster preparedness. He was preceded in death by his wife Francine on January 15, 2013. Millard is survived by his three daughters Nancy Guest (Mike) of Lakeview, Iowa, Dina Karl of Nederland, CO and Georgia Knight (Billy) of Longmont and four grandchildren Clay Karl, Jane Karl, Madison Karl and Amber Knight. Memorial services will be held at 3:00pm on Friday July 11, 2014 at Longs Peak United Methodist Church. Cremation at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
