Rick Grant Obituary
Rick (Patrick) Grant, 62, of Longmont, CO died peacefully at home, Sunday, January 5, 2014. He was born on April 19, 1951 in Bellefontaine, OH. He grew up playing in the streams and fields of Ohio, which gave him a genuine love of the outdoors that lasted his entire life. Rick met and married his wife Zoilita in Ohio in 1983 and they later moved to Northern California with their children where they lived for the next ten years. Rick was a veteran with the United States Army and traveled the world as a serviceman. He worked as the grounds manager for the Pioneer United Methodist Church for over 10 years in Auburn, CA. Rick and Zoilita moved to the Longmont area in 1993. He worked at ACE Hardware in Longmont for nearly 12 years where his fellow employees became close friends and part of his family. Rick was an avid visitor of the Longmont Library, the Longmont Museum and the Longmont Firehouse Art Gallery. He loved reading, fishing, gardening, hiking, the outdoors, classic films and his family. He was also a lover of music, especially Bob Dylan. Rick is survived by his wife of 30 years, Zoilita, son Mark, daughter Elizabeth, grandchildren Marcus and Christiana and their father Arthur and his beloved cats, Thomas, Violet and Bejube. He was deeply loved and will be incredibly missed by all who were touched by his kindness. Private family services will be held. To assist the family with medical expenses, memorial contributions may be made to the Patrick Grant Memorial Fund in c/o Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
