TRASK, Donald R. a.k.a. (Adorable the Clown) Passed away on February 1st, 2013 in the Cowichan District Hospital. Born at 102 Maple Ave., Welland, Ontario to Reverend and Mrs. R. D. Trask, the eldest son in a family of eight. He joined the Canadian Navy in 1945, trained in Esquimalt, and saw active service in the Korean War. Married in Victoria in 1951 to Lorna Jean Webb, they returned to Ontario, and raised three children while Don was working as a Custodial Officer, Police Officer and Police Instructor. Lorna and Don returned to Victoria, BC when he retired from the Ontario, Government Services. Don is survived by his loving wife Lorna; children, Brent (Beth), Terry (Teresa), Dawn (Frank Greco); 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren, his brother and sisters all in Ontario. For the past 20 years of his retirement, Don was a Shrine Clown "Adorable" entertaining children and adults alike with his clowning, parading, parties and face painting in the park. He took up Wood Carving as a hobby and became quite proficient. Don was a member of the Masonic Order, Gizeh Shrine Temple, Cowichan Valley Shrine Club, The Chiefs and Petty Officer's Association, The Shrine Legion of Honour, and Cowichan Valley Shrine Clown Unit. Don was also a recipient of the Ambassador for Peace Medal, Gratitude Republic of Korea, 30 years Exemplary Police Service Medal, United Nations Medal for Service in the Korean War, and the Canadian Forces Service Medal. The family gratefully thanks all those individuals for the compassionate care that Don received during his time of illness, especially Tom and Anne Earl, Dan and Joan Hust and the staff of the Cowichan District Hospital. At Don's request, there will be no formal service. Flowers gratefully declined, memorial gifts in his memory may be sent to the Gizeh Transportation Fund, c/o Cowichan Valley Shrine Club P. O.
