BUSCHMANN, Ingrid Anne Born in Seattle, WA. Dec. 06, 1954, died Oct. 01, 2013 at Victoria Hospice after fighting a brave six year battle with breast cancer. A talented musician, she began violin studies at Whittier school in Seattle when she was 10 years old. She graduated from Mercer Island High School in 1972 and attended the University of Washington, where she majored in viola performance and psychology, studying with Vilem Sokol and Donald McInnes. Ingrid moved to Victoria, B. C. in 1979 to join the Victoria Symphony and enjoyed playing viola there for many years. She began another career with the Greater Victoria Public Library. Ingrid's most recent position was Supervisor for Visiting Library Services. She continued working until less than a year ago, when illness compelled her to retire. Ingrid leaves behind a loving family that will always remember her: Gerd Jones, her mother, of Bellevue, WA, sisters Noreen Jacky (Jonathan) and Carol Buschmann of Seattle, WA, step-sisters Sylvia Smith (Floyd) of Portland OR, Laurie Jones (Jan) of Minneapolis MI, step-brothers Rob Jones of Seattle, Bill Jones (Theresa) of Indianola WA, and many dear friends in Victoria and Seattle. Ingrid was predeceased by her father, Norman Buschmann and her beloved step-father Robert W. Jones. A celebration of her life will be held at James Bay United Church, 511 Michigan St., V8V 1S1 Saturday, November 2nd at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ingrid's name may be made to Victoria Symphony, Suite 610 - 620 View St. Victoria, B.C.
