GLOVER, Percy Colin B.Comm., B.Paed., M.B.A., A.R.C.T. Colin Glover passed away on June 9, 2013 at the age of 96. He was born in Kamloops, BC on May 14, 1917. His early life and education was in Vancouver. He attended U.B.C. On May 16, 1944, he joined the Canadian Infantry (Army) as a Lieutenant training officer. He continued to further his education with degrees from the University of Toronto and University of Washington. His teaching career started in a one-room school house in Kitwanga, Mapes, then on to Smithers and Grand Forks before coming to Victoria and Vic High, Vice-Principal (Oak Bay Jr.), Principal (Reynolds Sec.), Assistant Superintendent of Schools S.D. #61 and retired as Secretary Treasurer of South Cariboo District (Ashcroft). After retirement, he studied music at the Victoria Conservatory and the Royal Conservatory in Toronto, obtaining his A.R.C.T. in piano November 1990. He was a long time member of Gyro International, Camosun Club and Gorge Vale Golf Club. He found a deep and nurturing love with his wife Shannon, who will always treasure his memory. He is survived by his children, Wendy (David) Squires, Alvin (Paula) Glover and Coleen VanNostrand; eight grandchildren; nephew, John (Nyrie) Stockton and their four boys and niece, Katie Salbuvik; brother-in-law, Peter (Sandra) Rabey and their son and daughter. A Memorial Service will be held at Gordon Head United Church, 4201 Tyndall Ave, Victoria, B.C. on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to the Victoria Hospital Foundation in honour of Colin Glover or Compassionate Resources Warehouse, c/o 4277 Quadra Street, Victoria, BC, V8X 1L5.
