WHITE, Rupert Macmillan (Mac) Mac passed away peacefully at the Veterans Lodge at Broadmead near Victoria, BC on March 16th, 2013 at age 87. He was born January 11th, 1926 in Parry Sound Ontario, son of Rupert Thomas White and Ellen Jane MacMillan. He is survived by his loving wife Carol (McVey) and his very loving children Rosanna, Gavin (Cindy) and Mary Ellen (Paul). He was a beloved grandfather to Duncan, Catie and Sarah White, and Andrew Schwagly. He also leaves a large extended family. After serving in the Navy, he attended the University of Toronto and enjoyed many years of teaching - in an English Boys School, Air Force Base in France and for the Toronto Board of Education as teacher and Principal where he made life long friends. Mac enjoyed many hobbies - gardening, cooking, antiques, travelling and adoration of the monarchy. Mac and Carol have enjoyed 23 wonderful years on Vancouver Island in Sidney, B.C. and have made a host of new friends here. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's United Church 2410 Malaview Avenue, Sidney B.C. on Friday, March 22nd, 2013 at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers if desired , donations in Macs memory may be made to St. Paul's United Church or Our Place Society 919 Pandora Avenue, Victoria, B.C. V8V 9Z9, or a charity of your choice.
