John H. Chandler

John Henry Chandler, 83, a native of Lawrence County and a resident of Lauderdale County, passed away July 16, 2014, at his residence. He was a member of Central Heights Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge, and a U.S. Air Force veteran.

Visitation was Thursday, July 17, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be today at 11 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Waddell and the Rev. Roger Houston officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Doug Hayes, Trigger Oakley, Leo Kilburn, Herby Harrison, Doug Baskins, John Sandy, Kenneth Brewer, and Don Burleson.

Mr. Chandler was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Pearl Chandler, sister, Helen Chandler Bradley, and brother, Lavon Chandler.

He is survived by his wife, Adell Chandler, and sons, Carl, Charles, and Gary Chandler, all of Florence; daughter, Patricia Gargis (Randy), of Tuscumbia; brother, Paul Chandler (Lorene), and sister, Jeanette Powell (Roy), all of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jonathan Chandler, of Florence, Chelsea Kennedy (Huston), of Muscle Shoals, and Brittany Gargis, of Nashville, Tennessee.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Central Heights Baptist Church, Dr. Richard Deal, and Dr. Lawrence Carmichael.
