DEANE, Edwin Stanard, 96, of Stanardsville, Va., died on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Grace Health and Rehab of Greene following a period of declining health after a fall in July 2012. He was born on December 12, 1915 in Stanardsville, the son of the late Kemper and Lutie Deane. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Garth Deane. He is survived by his brother, E.W. "Dookie" Dean and wife, Phyllis, of Stanardsville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Edwin served his country as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force in World War II. After the war, he worked in Richmond in the service department of Sears until his retirement and return to Stanardsville. A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. at Stanardsville Cemetery, with his nephew, Pastor Wendell Lamb, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a worthy . An online guestbook is available at www.ryanfuneral.com. Ryan Funeral Home of Ruckersville is handling the arrangements.
