SCHROEDER, Janice Louise, 86, of Richmond, Va., died peacefully on May 7, 2012. Janice was born June 7, 1925 in Whitehall, Wis. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Carroll. She is survived by their four children, Mark (Joann) of Midlothian, Va., Paul (Gwyn) of Michigan City, Ind., Mary Leslie (Kent) of Indianapolis, Ind., Ann Becker (John) of Monson, Mass.; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Jan is also survived by her sister, Adeline Richter of Watertown, Wis. Jan was always a talented and versatile person. She began her career as an elementary school teacher, later sold real estate, and in her retirement, started a very successful business teaching Bridge in Hendersonville, N.C. Throughout her life, Jan was also active in her church activities, especially choir and Bible study. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 14 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of The Hermitage of Richmond.
