Julius Blount 64, a native of Vallejo, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, surrounded by his devoted family.
He served this country in the US Army as a Vietnam Veteran with a Purple Heart, from 1969 - 1973. Mr. Blount was employed by the US Postal Service for 33 years, retiring in 2005.
Julius coached Little League Baseball as well as kicking back watching sports on television. Spending quality time with family and friends was his all time favorite pastime.
He leaves to treasure his legacy his wife of 39 years, Andrea Carney-Blount of Vallejo; daughter, Julicia D. (Vernon Sr.) Blount- Bussey of Vallejo; sister, Rosezetta Glover of McDough, Gerogia; brothers, Wash Blount of Fairfield, and Richard Blount of Palm Springs; four grandchildren, Tarosha Bussey, Daishanique Bussey, Vernon Bussey, Jr. And Jay'Den Bussey; three great-grandchildren, Ryann Murry Jr., Neihimiah Murry, De' Niyah Bernstine.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 23, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Skyview Memorial Chapel, 200 Rollingwood Drive, Vallejo. Services to be held Monday, March 24, at 11 a.m. at Corinthians COGIC, 1101 Benicia Rd, Vallejo with Elder Booker T. Turner, officiating with Elder Anthony Brown. Burial to follow at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon. Arrangements by Skyview Memorial Lawn, Vallejo, (707) 644-7474.
