Junelda Verdell Daniels Jefferson was born on Aug. 29, 1926 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She was the ninth of 11 children born to William Henry and Willie Floyd Daniels. Mother Jefferson received her elementary and secondary education in the Pine Bluff public school system, graduating from Merril High School in 1946. She matriculated through Arkansas AM&N College (now the University of Arkansas, Pine Bluff), earning a Bachelor degree in Sociology in 1952. After college, she began her career as a high school teacher in her hometown. Mother Jefferson accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior in 1960; and, she received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1961.

Through the leading of her siblings, Mother Jefferson moved from Arkansas to Berkeley, CA in 1961. She immediately obtained employment in the West Contra Costa School District as a middle school Mathematics teacher. During her career, she taught at Portola and Pinole Middle Schools.

In 1966, she was invited to a dinner in the home of Bishop German and Mother Grace Ross, where she was introduced to Elder Perless Jefferson, the Pastor of Rehoboth Church Of God In Christ, in Vallejo, CA. That year, the two were united in Holy Matrimony; and in 1969, they were blessed with the birth of a son, Perless Daniels Jefferson.

Upon becoming the First Lady of Rehoboth Church, Mother Jefferson rolled up her sleeves and immediately went to work to support her husband's ministry and further the Kingdom of God. Upon her arrival, she began a fundraising project to blacktop the parking lot of Rehoboth's property. She then coordinated an Annual Church Anniversary service as a means to build the Church's treasury and continue annual improvement projects.

Mother Jefferson retired from West Contra Costa Unified School District in 1991, and launched into fulltime ministry. In addition to faithfully and diligently fulfilling her role as First Lady of Rehoboth Church, she served the Holy Ghost District as Assistant District Missionary and District Missionary. She also served Northern California First Jurisdiction Department of Women as Member of the Examination Board, Booster for State Women's Convention, and Chairperson of the Women's Executive Board.
