Barry Ira Adelman, age 66, of Newberry Estate, Dallas died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at the Celtic Health Care Hospice Unit at Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Barry was the son of the late Abraham "Sonny" and Lillian Entes Adelman.
He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Barry was employed as a salesman with several Wyoming Valley Auto Dealerships.
Barry was a unique individual who always maintained a positive outlook and despite the many health challenges confronting him until the end, when asked how he was, he would always reply, "terrific!"
Surviving are his son, Adam Lyle Sebastian Adelman, Trucksville; brother, Dr. Charles Martin Adelman, Cedar Falls, Iowa; Adam's siblings, Erica, Alicia and Michael Sebastian, all of Trucksville; companion, Christie Innes, New Hope, Pa.; his many friends at Newberry Estate and the Dallas Triangle Club.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. Rabbi Roger Lerner will officiate. Interment will be made in Mt. Greenwood Cemetery, Trucksville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from noon until time of service.
