Herbert Nash Jr., 86, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, in Drums.
He was born on May 16, 1926 in Wilkes-Barre, to the late Herbert and Esther (Nicholas) Nash. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth Nash.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Herbert was a proud graduate of Penn State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, and had a 40 year career at PP&L, culminating as the vice president of the Central Division in Hazleton.
He served on the boards of the Hazleton General Hospital, Can-Do Community Foundation, Economic Development Council of Northeastern Pennsylvania, United Way, Minsi Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Hazleton Healthcare Foundation, and was the chairman of the board of the Greater Hazleton Health Alliance.
He also volunteered at the Junior Chamber of Commerce, was president of the Lehigh County Conference of Churches, and was a Rotarian.
Surviving him are son, Keith E. Nash and wife, Dolores; grandchildren, Aaron Nash and Rachel Nash; and many loving friends.
Services will be private.
