Canoy Collinsworth
age 82, of Sandyville, passed away Thur. morning in Mercy Medical Center in Canton. Born in Paintsville, Ky., a son of the late Taylor and Frankie (Patrick) Collinsworth, he had been a resident of Sandyville since 1966. Canoy retired in 1994 from Kopp Clay as a kiln operator, served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Sandy Valley Eagles #3228.
Preceded in death by his son, Rick Collinsworth, his grandson, Quinton Crim, and four brothers, Samuel, Clyde, Greenville, and Hershel Collinsworth. Survived by his wife, Ruth Collinsworth, with whom he would have celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on May 1; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Randy Collinsworth, of East Sparta, Jeff Collinsworth and Jim and Lori Collinsworth, all of Sandyville, and Joel and Lori Collinsworth, of Magnolia; one daughter- in-law, Karen Collinsworth, of Carrollton; one sister, Geneva Fittro, of Canton South; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Ruth Collinsworth, of Milan, Mich.; six grandchildren, Misty and Christy Collinsworth, Connie Collinsworth, Nicole and Alix Crim, and Morgan Collinsworth; and four great grandchildren, Scotty Lewis, Mason Shirey, and Braden and Gianna Jones.
A Memorial Service will be held Mon. at Noon in Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Keith Stephens officiating. Interment in Westview Cemetery in Carrollton. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers contributions in Canoy's memory may be made to the family to help defray expenses. Condolences may be left at:
