age 58, of Coshocton, passed away at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Friday, May 9, 2014 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Coshocton Jan. 19, 1956 to Clyde P. and Anna B. (Grewell) Thomason. Clyde graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1974. On December 29, 1984, Clyde married Shelaine Fouch, who survives. He was a dedicated employee of Pretty Products for 20 years and an auxiliary deputy for Coshocton County. In 1989 Clyde founded Thomason Locksmith, which he operated until his passing. He and his wife, Shelaine, owned and operated Thomason's Market in West Lafayette from 1999-2004. Clyde was a dedicated employee of Ridgewood Local School District as a bus driver, he loved transporting the children to school. His most favorite moments were spent with his granddaughter, Graisyn. He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians. Clyde was a member of West Lafayette Masonic Lodge #602 holding the office of the Secretary for several years. Clyde was a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge. He also was a member of the West Lafayette Lions Club, Coshocton Eagles Lodge #761, and Coshocton Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #935. He and his wife were dedicated foster parents through The Buckeye Ranch, nurturing and encouraging children from Coshocton and Franklin counties.
In addition to his wife, Clyde is survived by son, Tim Pence (Rachel Basham); daughter, Molly Thomason; loving granddaughter, Graisyn Pence; and provided loving care to John Glaister, Clarence America, and Robert Melrose; a brother, Steven (Sue Ann) Thomason; sister, Grace (Curtis) Stogner; special aunt, Amanda Babcock; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Clyde is preceded in death by his father.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Given-Dawson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Buckeye Ranch Foundation, 5665 Hoover Road, Grove City, Ohio 43123.
