Douglas V. Seamans
80 of Sugarcreek died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Wooster Community Hospital in Wooster. He was born Jan. 16, 1933 in Montrose, Calif. to the late Vernon Hanson Seamans and Marie Boyer Seamans Kapp. He was a retired automobile sales manager, veteran of the US Air Force and a member of the Berlin Mennonite Church.
He is survived by his wife, the former Veva Olbert whom he married Feb. 14, 1984. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Valerie (Gayle) Albiston of California and Cheryl Seamans of Mexico; stepdaughters, Valarie Kinkade and her husband, Kevin Grant of Massachusetts and Veronica (Scott) Forney of Virginia; nine grandchildren, Justin Seamans, David Seamans, Tim Albiston, Noah Albiston, Tamara Gastelum, Brandon Forney, Kyle Forney, Meghan Grant and Madison Grant; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Paul Kapp.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2013 at 5 p.m. at the Berlin Mennonite Church with Pastor Myron Weaver officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Smith-Varns Funeral Home at Sugarcreek.
