Ernest "Paul" Evans
Age 82, of Canton passed away Wednesday in Aultman Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Canton he was the son of the late Earnest G. and Leadth Evans and had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Republic Storage of Canton in 1992, was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and St. Peter's Holy Name/Men's Club.
In addition to his parents was preceded in death by his five brothers. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary (Robbins) Evans of the home; sons, Paul (Jan) Evans of Canton, James Evans of Washington, DC, David Evans of Canton; daughters, Lorraine Snook of Massillon, Theresa (Troy) Garcia of Massillon, Sarajean (Duane) Affolter of West Lafayette, Ohio; grandchildren, Justin, Jennifer, Trisha, Dylan, Eric, Emily, Mitchell, Noah; great-grandchildren: Aidan, Logan and his buddy Payton.
Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday (TODAY) at 1 p.m. in St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Edward L. Beneliet as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
