Stephanie L. Homman Whitener, age 45 of Atlanta, Ga. passed away on March 27, 2014 after a brief illness.
She was a 1987 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. She attended The Ohio State University, The Art Institute of Atlanta and received her B.A. degree from The American University in Atlanta.
Stephanie is survived by her loving husband Eric whom she married June 11, 2011 in Vieques, Puerto Rico. Her beautiful, spirited two year old daughter Paige of the home. Her parents Jeannine (Robbie) Stephens, Jack (Betsy) Homman. Sister Kimberly Ayers, nieces Ashley and Abigale Ayers all of New Philadelphia and nephew Anthony (Fiona) Ayers of Cleveland, Ohio. Mother in law Rachel (Jeff) of Vonore, Tenn. and father-in-law Bill Whitener of Harrison Township, Mich. She was preceded in death by grandparents Jack and Marian Homman, Robert and Freda Mehrley, A brother William Homman and an uncle, Dr. Samuel Mehrley. Stephanie loved spending quality time nurturing Paige. She was thoroughly devoted to being a loving mother. She and Eric enjoyed traveling throughout Europe, the U.S. and several island locales.
A memorial service was held in Piedmont Park in Atlanta where a tree was planted in Stephanie's memory. There will be a celebration of Stephanie's life on June 28, 2014 with family and friends from 5:00-7:00 at the J&G Grill in New Philadelphia a favorite place of hers on her visits home.
