Sue E. Koprivec
56, of Uhrichsville, passed away on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at Union Hospital in Dover after a three year battle with breast cancer. Born March 24, 1957 in Canton, she was a daughter of the late Paul Vernon Johns and Shirley Mae (Myers) Mayle. On Jan. 7, 1978, Sue married Joseph C. Koprivec, Sr. with whom she was looking forward to celebrating 36 years of marriage this week. She is also survived by their five children, Joseph C. Koprivec, Jr. of Uhrichsville, Jackie (Chad) Shafer of Carrollton, Stephanie (companion, Ricky) Koprivec of Dennison, Mikey (Kim) Koprivec of Strasburg and Candy (boyfriend, Johnny) Koprivec of Dennison; grandchildren, Daniel, Dustin, Jessika, Nadia, Shelby, Gagge, Allison, Evalyn, Bently and Lilliana; sisters, Carol Cain and Sally Johns; her stepfather who raised her like she was his own daughter, Melvin Mayle; several nieces and nephews; and her canine best friend, Puppy Dog.
Sue was a resident of the Twin City area for the past 13 years and had previously lived in Carrollton after growing up in Canton where she was a graduate of McKinley High School in the class of 1975. Following high school, she proudly served her country in the U.S. Army in the late 70's. From the time of her marriage, Sue devoted her life to her family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who treasured the time that she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life.
A memorial service and celebration of her life, officiated by Pastor Mike Travis, will be held at 4pm on Jan. 10, 2014 in the Uhrichsville Church of the Nazarene. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her family in care of Sue Koprivec at the Strasburg Savings And Loan, P O Box 107, Strasburg, Oh 44680, to help defray the cost of her final expenses.
