D'Alberto Amelia MECHANICVILLE Mrs. Amelia "Emily" D'Alberto, 87, former longtime resident of Mechanicville, died Monday, December 2, 2013 at Health Alliance Hospital, Kingston, after a brief and sudden illness. Born in Utica on May 30, 1926, daughter of the late Rufus and Edith Smith Stagliano, Emily worked for Price Chopper Markets in Mechanicville for many years, retiring in 1983. A former member and officer of the Senior and Junior Dante Club, the Mechanicville Home Bureau and the Peters-Purcell ITAM Ladies Auxiliary. Emily was fortunate to be a three time survivor of breast cancer, and cherished everyday of her life. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Richard "Richie" D'Alberto, who died in 1995; daughter, Linda Edwards in 2011; twin sons at birth in 1957; sisters, Marie Carpenter, Betty Jane Buhl and Theresa Peluso. Survivors include her son, Richard (Debbie) D'Alberto of South Carolina; daughter, Regina (Jerry) Reed of Averill Park; son, Anthony (Mary) D'Alberto of Kingston; son-in-law, Robert Edwards of Florida; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth DiDomenico and Jeanette Marinello, both of Mechanicville; sister, Helen Streets of Texas; brother, Frank (Louise) Stagliano of Mechanicville; along with nieces, nephews and their families. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon on Friday at All Saints on the Hudson South Church, 121 No. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial in St. Paul's Cemetery.
