Colatosti, Armand LOUDONVILLE Armand Colatosti, 84, died Thursday, June 5, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. Armand was born in Frosinone, Italy to the late Sante and Mary Stirpe Colatosti. He was a mason, developer and contractor who stared his own business at 19, and was instrumental in opening many neighborhoods in the Capital Region. He has built several hundred homes and neighborhoods, especially Winding Brook Manor on Colatosti Place in Albany. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and is the commander of the Scambelluri Carlino Valek American legion Post 1775. Armand is an active member of the Elks Post 744, Melbourne, Fla., the former Knights of Columbus East Greenbush, Albany Area Home Builders Assoc., Italian American Community Center of Albany and So. Brevard, Fla. He enjoyed winters in Florida, cards, bocci, fishing, dancing and gardening. Predeceased by his wife Patricia Colatosti and brother, Ugo Colatosti. Armand is survived by his beloved Janice Morris-Colatosti; four daughters, Teresa M. Caringi, Laura Colatosti, Susan Colatosti, Linda (William) Anagnostopulos and step- son James Morris; seven grandchildren, Armand, Tony, Catrina, Teresa, Angelina, Tatiana and Alexis. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, and nieces, Sandra, Mary and nephew, Christopher Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2014 from Church of St. Mary, 163 Columbia Tpk, Rensselaer. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Friends may call in the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer, Sunday, from 3-7 p.m. Those who wish may make contributions to Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 for the excellent care they provided.
