Aprilliano, Charles F. MECHANICVILLE Charles F. Aprilliano, 59, of Underwood Ave., died Monday morning, April 7, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy, after an extended illness. Born in Saratoga Springs, May 1, 1954, son of the late Charles and Dorothy Doughty Aprilliano, Charlie was a 1972 graduate of Hoosic Valley Central School. After graduation, Charlie enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a combat engineer (demolition) primarily in Europe. A machinist with the Watervliet Arsenal for 36 years, Charlie retired on disability several years ago. An avid snow skier, he belonged to the "Out of Control Ski Club", and also enjoyed his motorcycle. A frequent traveler, Charlie took trips to Europe, Middle East and a number of job related trips to Egypt. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Aprilliano of Mechanicville and Stephanie Aprilliano of Ireland; his sister Constance (Peter) Campbell of Melrose and brother John Aprilliano of Dover, Del., along with nieces and nephews. Charlie was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and Angelo Aprilliano. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville. Burial with military honors at Saratoga National Cemetery. Calling hour at the funeral home Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. Remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in fond memory of Charles F. Aprilliano.
