Ryan, David J. HALFMOON David J. Ryan, 60, died on Friday, October 25, 2013 at his home in Halfmoon. Born in Albany on November 19, 1952, he was the son of the late Charles and Dorothy Weatherwax Ryan. Dave was raised and educated in Guilderland and was a 1971 graduate of Guilderland High School. He was employed after high school at the Hellman Theater in Albany as the manager for five years and later worked for Matthew Bender and the Empire State College. He retired in 2010 after 30 years of service with the New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities in Albany. Dave was a member and former fire chief for the Round Lake Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing golf, and motorcycle riding but most of all he cherished the time he spent with his wife and three sons. He is the beloved husband of 40 years of Linda A. Mahoney Ryan; devoted father of three sons, Patrick M. Ryan of Halfmoon, Daniel T. Ryan of Clifton Park and Michael D. Ryan of Albany; dear brother of Arthur (Joan) Ryan and Martin Ryan, both of Ogdensburg, Charles (Nancy) Ryan of Schroon River, Dorothy (Keith) Green of Colonie, Bonnie (Martin) Goggin of Duansburg, James Ryan of Rensselaer, Jerry (Marjorie) Ryan of Saratoga Springs, Lynn (Steve) Demczar of Watervliet and Daniel Ryan of Sacandaga Lake. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at the Parker Bros. Memorial, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet on Monday, October 28, 2013 from 3 to 7 p.m. The memorial service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Calvary United Methodist Church, Belle Avenue and Ridge Place in Latham. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, 15 Ride Place, Latham, NY 12110 or to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter (SCAS), 6010 County Farm Road, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
