Baker, Donald W. Sr. GLENMONT Donald W. Baker, Sr., 82, died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and educated in Albany, he was the son of the late Daniel J. and Lillian (Bollman) Baker, Sr. Don worked at Callanan Stone Quarry for over 30 years, retiring as superintendent. Upon retirement he worked as a mine inspector for the U.S. Dept. of Labor. Don was a member of Guttenberg Masonic Lodge 737, Guttenberg Fellowcraft Club, Cyprus Shriners and Nite Owls, Inc. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict, was a past member of the Selkirk Fire Dept. #2 and enjoyed carpentry, welding, golfing fishing but most of all spending time with his family. Husband of the late Mary (Flint) Baker; father of Diane (Karl) Harris of Nassau and the late Donald W. Baker and Linda Baker; brother of Robert L. (Beverly) Baker of Selkirk and Daniel J. (Mary Jane) Baker, Jr. of Albany; grandfather of Alexander Davis, Hannah Harris and Leah Harris. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Daniel Keenan Funeral Home, 490 Delaware Ave., Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Route 9W in Selkirk.
