Lemme, Eugene J. RENSSELAER Eugene J. Lemme, 69, died on Thursday, January 30, 2014 in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany, he was the son of Dominic and Jennie Rizzo. Gene graduated from Christian Brothers Academy. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Gene was a computer programmer analyst with the New York State Department of Health-BITS. He enjoyed golfing and the New York Giants, but lived to travel and spend quality time with his cherished family. He was the beloved husband of Maureen Stevens Lemme; loved father of Michael Lemme (Stephanie Vara) and Nicole O'Brien (Michael); cherished grandfather of Michael, Gregory and John O'Brien, Alexander and Nicklaas Lemme, Brett and Carson Vara; brother of Ricardo Rizzo (Sharyn Hennessy), Kenneth Rizzo (Maryhelen), Dennis Rizzo (Dawn), Dante Rizzo, James Rizzo (Kathy Bandos), Cynthia Rizzo, Darlene Schissler (Charles), Madeline Rizzo and the late Pamela Rizzo; nephew of Mary Anastasi; brother-in-law of Bill and Maureen Stevens, Brian and Janet Stevens, Tim and Patty Stevens, Garry and Naiomi Stevens, Michael and Laurie Stevens, Dan and Michelle Stevens, Jill Stevens and Tom Cenci; survived by 49 nieces and nephews, 65 grandnieces and grandnephews, one great-grandniece, and many cousins and friends. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of both the ICU and Hospice at St. Peter's Hospital. Funeral services, Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany thence to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany at 10:30 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment, Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
