Forlani, Fred ALBANY Fred Forlani, in his 100th year, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013 surrounded by his family. Born in Blandford, Mass., he was the son of the late Ercole and Venusta Leonardi Forlani. Fred lived most of his life in Albany and was the co-owner of Forlani's Garage on Northern Boulevard for more than 40 years. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Hoetzel Forlani, in 2000. Fred graduated from Machine Shop Industrial School and then honorably served his country when he enlisted in the Army and served in Europe during World War II. He was a military police officer under Gen. George S. Patton. He was the beloved father of Noreen Santa Maria (Joseph) and Colleen Forlani (James Martin); cherished grandfather of Joseph Santa Maria, Teresa Santa Maria, Alexander Martin and Benjamin Martin. He was predeceased by his brother, Charles Forlani, and his sister, Mary Forlani Giacci. Funeral services from the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, now located at 208 N. Allen St., Albany will be at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. Entombment at St. Agnes Mausoleum.
