Powers, John T. "JP" GLENS FALLS John T. "JP" Powers, 70, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Glens Falls Hospital. A long-time resident of Watervliet, John was born in Troy on January 18, 1943 and was the son of the late William and Catherine Fedursky Powers. Raised in South Troy John attended St. Joseph's School and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School. He later furthered his educated at HVCC, earning a degree in refrigeration and air conditioning. He was employed by Eastern Heating and Cooling in Albany, Grand Union and most recently, for Progressive Insurance Company in Albany. John's ability as an HVAC technician earned him a good reputation and he became a "go to" guy for many area businesses requiring his service. He was a long-time member of the Watervliet Elks Lodge where he was a member of the dart league earning many trophies and awards for his skilled play. He enjoyed classic cars and loved his 1949 Mercury. He also enjoyed fishing and following the NY Yankees and Giants.
