Sharp, Kathleen A. CANAAN Kathleen A. Sharp of Canaan died May 12, 2013 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born in 1946 to Louis and Irene (Macdonald) Boucher, Kathy grew up in Rossman in Columbia County and attended the "four-room" Rossman School there. She graduated from Ichabod Crane Central school in 1964. Predeceased by both parents, she is survived by her husband of 47 years, Lee Sharp; her daughter, Meghan Sharp; and granddaughter, Emily Pulver; as well as several cousins and nieces. With a lifelong passion for learning, Kathy studied at Hudson Valley Community College, Michigan State University, SUNY New Paltz, and Empire State College. As a radiologic technologist and physician assistant, she worked in several area hospitals and private practices, taught at Hudson Valley Community College and served as a volunteer with the Valatie Rescue Squad. In retirement, Kathy's youthful interest in arts and crafts was rekindled. She particularly enjoyed spinning, weaving and under the guidance of friend and mentor Ulrike Grannis paper art and book making. Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home in Valatie. A private burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Valatie. Kathy's family is profoundly grateful for the support of the staff and volunteers of the Columbia-Greene Community Hospice, and the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's. Friends are encouraged to donate to their local hospice organizations.
