Pisarski, Lawrence Leonard Sr. SCHENECTADY Lawrence "Larry" Leonard Pisarski, Sr., 78, currently of Schenectady died on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the Stratton Veterans Hospital, Albany, with his family by his side following a long illness. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Judith (Hansen) Pisarski; his son, Lawrence L Pisarski, Jr (Joanne); his daughters, Cheryl McNamara (Robert), Susan Cavallaro (Kevin) and his seven beloved grandchildren, Willa and Wyatt Pisarski, Erin and Rachael McNamara, Michael, Ryan and Elizabeth Cavallaro. He also leaves behind his treasured pet Max. He is also survived by his brothers, Edward (Dorothy) Pisarski, of St. Louis and his brother, Gerald Pisarski of Schenectady. Larry also leaves many nieces and nephews. Larry is predeceased by his parents, Adolph and Jean Schreiber, and his eldest brother Richard Schreiber. Larry was in the U.S. Military in the Air Force branch 1954-1959. He proudly served his country and often told stories of his time and travels through Europe during his service. After the military he returned home to the Albany area, residing most of his married life in Altamont and Guilderland area. At that time he was an industrial sales manager/ contractor for STONHARD Company for many years. In the mid 80's he opened his own company, Polymer Technologies. Larry never officially retired and enjoyed keeping busy at many small retirement jobs. He loved interacting with people and traveling. Over the years Larry was a member of many town committees and local organizations. At the time of his passing he was a member of the following organizations: Nite Owls, Inc., The American Legion, The Fellow Craft Club of Guttenberg Lodge 787, The Masonic Temple, The Albany Zaloga Post 1520, The VFW, The Polish American Club and Guilderland Elks Club 2480 where he was one of the founding members in the 1970's. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at Ferrari Funeral Home, (inside Jones Funeral Home), 1503 Union St.(at McClellan St.), Schenectady. Burial will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. The family would like to offer thanks for the care and compassion extended to both Larry and his family over the past few years at the VA Dialysis Floor and also over the past few months, the Intensive Care Unit.
