Williams, Louis H. Jr. ALBANY Louis H. Williams Jr., 83, of Albany, peacefully passed into the arms of God on July 20, 2013. He was born in Edgecombe County, N.C. to the late Louis H. Williams Sr. and the late Vinie (Biggs) Williams and was educated in the Rocky Mount city school district. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, receiving an honorable discharge in 1952. He then relocated to Albany, where he was employed for several years at the Stratton VA Medical Center and then for 30 years at the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) retiring in 1993. He has been a faithful member of the Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church since 1973 - until his passing. Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 33 years, Lonnell (Dixon) Williams; son, Louis Eric Sr. of Schenectady; daughter, Gloria Williams of Philadelphia, Pa.; stepdaughter, Linda (Waydean) Braswell of Schenectady; godson, Thaddeus (Teddy) Williams; sisters-in-law, Patricia Dixon Spear (Tim) of Decatur, Ga., Regina Dixon of Lithonia, Ga., Annie Wanamaker (John E.) of Cocoa, Fla.; brother-in-law, Bruce (Ann) Dixon of Newington, Conn.; nephew, Eric Burke of Albany; nieces, Deborah Laster and Sharon Dean both of the Bronx; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandson; grand nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a stepson, Romen Cary Blackwill; sisters, Louvenia Whitfield, Clara Burke and Mary E. (Beatrice) Frances; in-laws, Genie and Anna Dixon; and sister-in-law, Diane (Dixon) Parker. Special thank you to the staff of the Garland Bros. Funeral Home, Dr. Garbo and the staff at the NYOH at Patroon Creek, Dr. Balsam and to all those who assisted us in our time of need. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 441 Washington Ave., Albany. Masonic ceremony from 9 - 10 a.m. Public viewing from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Home going service of celebration at 12 p.m. Interment following service at Albany Rural Cemetery, Broadway, Menands.
