Logan, Major ALBANY Major Logan, 86, died on Thursday, August 28, 2014. Born in Rutherfordton, N.C., he was the son of the late John and Zellie Bradshaw Logan. Mr. Logan served 20 years in the U.S. Army. He was a Vietnam War veteran and earned a Bronze Star for Meritorious Achievement in ground operations against the enemy. After retiring from the Army, Major spent several years in Saudi Arabia training their military forces. He was an avid writer, and enjoyed bowling at Sunset Lanes where he had many friends. He was the dear uncle of Judith Logan-Edmonds (Bruce Edmonds); brother-in-law of Betty Logan; brother of the late Charlie, Julius and Leroy Logan, Margaret Boston and Genevee Logan. Funeral services Thursday, September 4, 2014, at 7 p.m. in McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be Friday, September 5, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. in Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
