Wilcox, Merritt A. SNYDERS LAKE Merritt A. Wilcox, of Snyders Lake, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. He was born in Troy and lived in the Snyders Lake area all of his life. Mr. Wilcox was a self-employed floor mechanic and was owner of Wilcox's Tavern in Troy for 18 years. He was a US Army veteran and was a member of the Sullivan Jones VFW Post 7446 in Poestenkill, American Legion Post 1489 in Wynantskill and the CRAB Club in Troy. Merritt was also a member of the Troy Lodge of Elks BPOE 141, Emerald Club in Troy and volunteered at the Troy Food Pantry. Husband of Kathryn Ray Wilcox; father of Necole (Chip) Good and Jesse (Christine) Wilcox; grandfather of Dakota, Elijah and Jessie Wilcox and Riley, Aidan and Payton Good; brother of Maureen "Sissy" Church and Carol Jones; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer Friday from 4-7 p.m. Military honors will be bestowed Friday evening at 7:00.
