Cowan, Michael Anthony ORANGE, Calf. Michael Anthony Cowan, 47, passed away suddenly on June 27, 2014 in a motorcycle accident in Santa Ana, Calif. Born in Albany on May 28, 1967, the son of Claudette Hiller Cowan and Michael S. Cowan, Michael was the beloved grandson of Lillian Cowan and the late Henry Cowan and the late Ruby and Cleveland Hiller. During his childhood Michael lived in many parts of the country and attended multiple schools, both public and private, including Albany Academy, Raymour Academy, and Stony Brook Academy. After graduating Albany High School in 1985, Michael answered the call of his country and joined the Army where he served proudly. He then attended college and worked at various jobs until he found his life's calling as an IT technician in California, a career he enjoyed for 22 years, rising to the top of his field as a consultant to several major companies. At 43 Michael met the love of his life, Malakah, and together they had the child he always wanted, their darling son, Suleyman. Michael was baptized as a young child and believed in God and the resurrection throughout his life and was from childhood up the kind of person people flock to. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Besides his grandparents, Michael was also predeceased by two uncles, Marion and Albert Hiller. Survivors include his father, Michael S. Cowan of Albany; his mother, Claudette Cowan of San Diego, Calif.; his paternal grandmother, Lillian Cowan of Albany; his fiancee and son, Malakah and Suleyman; sister, Andrea (Harry) Hatch; nephew, Jerimiah; aunts, Diane Cowan, Carol Foster, Dorothy, Brynda and Annmarie Hiller and Linda Agbaniyak; uncles, Donald and Eric Cowan; close friends, Meredith, Shannon, Tram, Scott, Dwayne and Guy; and a host of other relatives and friends.
