Battisto, Michael C. NORTH GREENBUSH Michael C. Battisto of North Greenbush passed peacefully on May 23, 2014 at the Stratton V.A. Medical Center in Albany, into the waiting arms of the Lord and of Mike's loving wife, Patricia, at the amazing age of 90. He was a World War II U.S. Army Air Force veteran, who served in England. Mr. Battisto was a professional carpenter with union 370. He then worked for the Bethlehem Town Hall, overseeing the remodeling of an old school to a new town hall. Mike enjoyed participating in the Veterans of Albany Choir with songs and skits at area senior centers and nursing homes. He was a lay chaplain and administered his services in many areas. He touched many lives, in beautiful ways. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Robin Lynch; grandsons, Anthony and Derek Lynch; great-grandson Leiland Lynch; relatives of the Battisto and DiBella families and many other family and friends dear to his heart. He was also known as Pop and Daddycakes. Funeral from the W. J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Ave., Rensselaer, on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 11:30 a.m., all are welcome to attend. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be Wednesday at 2 p.m., at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Life Outreach Int'l C/O James Robison Ministries, P.O. Box 982000, Fort Worth, TX 76182-8000.
