Orr, Patricia J. GUILDERLAND Patricia J. Orr, 71, died on Friday, February 21, 2014 at her home in Guilderland. Born in Albany on December 11, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Helen F. (Vaccariello) Orr Sr. She was a graduate of Vincentian Institute in Albany. She attended the College of St. Rose and graduated from Cortland State College. She was a sixth grade school teacher at Sand Creek Middle School and Farnsworth Middle School in Guilderland for many years. She then returned to law school and graduated from the New England Law School in Springfield, Mass. She was a senior attorney with the Social Security Administration in Albany for more than 30 years before retiring on January 3, 2014. Patricia enjoyed knitting and cross-stitch, loved to argue politics and was persistent with her strong opinion, dabbled in the stock market and was very spiritual and had a fascination with angels. She had a wonderful laugh, valued her independence and took great care of her parents in their later years. In addition to her late parents, she was the sister of the late Charles J. Orr Jr. and Carole Orr Smith; loving aunt of Kimberly A. (Bill Murphy) Smith of Guilderland, Elizabeth P. Smith of Cohoes, Susan Orr (John) Tormey of North Reading, Mass. and Jennifer Smith Fletcher of Niskayuna; great aunt of Arcadia (Matt) Smith, Jennifer P. Keefe, Ethan Fletcher, Jackson and Nicholas Tormey; great-great-aunt of Henry Smith, sister-in-law of Mary S. Orr of Latham and Irwin J. Smith of Loudonville. The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 25 at 1 p.m. at the Bowen & Parker Bros. Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham with the Rev. Geoffrey Burke officiating. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
