Richard F. Shea Obituary
Shea, Richard F. COLONIE Richard F. Shea, 69, of Colonie, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Albany Memorial Hospital. He was born in Troy and is the son of Bertha Eppenstein (late Walter) and the late John J. Shea Jr. Rich served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for New York State Division of Criminal Justice and retired from the Department of Health. Rich was the past president of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Troy. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Tara Hall Pipe Band and an avid fan of NASCAR, stamp collecting and genealogy. Rich is survived by his wife, Eileen Larsen Shea; his children, Mary (Steven) Fronk and Nora Shea (RJ). He is the grandfather of Star and Steven Fronk Jr. Rich is the brother of John J. (Sandy) Shea III, Edward D'Arcy (Deanna) Shea, Deborah (Ivan) Saitow and the late Jonathan Shea and Judy Markbein. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie then to St. Clare's Church at 11 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the in memory of Richard F. Shea.
