McCoy, Richard ALBANY Richard W. McCoy, 63, died Friday, July, 19, 2013 at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Robert and Shirley McCollough McCoy. He served his country as a specialist in the Army during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he worked as a corrections officer for Albany County. He went on to serve his city as a fireman for Engine #7 on Clinton Ave. More recently he was employed as a driver, belonging to Teamsters Union Local #294. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family and put them ahead of all others. He was the husband of the late Donna Steinbach; father of Richard W. McCoy Jr. (Erica), Colleen Szczepkowski (Shawn), Kristin McCoy (Christopher) and Erin McCoy; brother of Robert and Mike McCoy, Lisa Blake and the late Craig McCoy. Also survived by nine grandchildren. Funeral services Wednesday morning at the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen St., Albany at 8:15 thence to Blessed Sacrament Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Burial will follow the Mass at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
