Mustone, Richard BALLSTON SPA Richard "Rick" Mustone, 61, of Falsetto Court, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 in Community Hospice at Samaritan Hospital, Troy. Born in Framingham, Mass., he was the son of the late Louis Mustone and Dorothy Haley Mustone and husband of Deborah Lewis Mustone of Ballston Spa. Raised and educated in Framingham, he was a graduate of Framingham High School. Rick was a systems administrator with Logic Technology in Schenectady for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy during the 1970's on the USS Kennedy and served with Special Forces as a Green Beret during the 1980's. He served with the U.S. Army Infantry in Iraq from 2004 to 2005, he was a member of a ten man team training over 400 Iraqi soldiers during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was also part of the team for Operation Sword and Spear. Rick was a retired Army Veteran SFC, retiring in 2012. He was so devoted to the military that in 2012 when he was scheduled to retire he volunteered to be deployed to Afghanistan. He enjoyed Torres Taekwon Do and was recommended for a Black Belt in May. Survivors in addition to his wife, Deborah, include his son, Richard C. Mustone (Ashley) of Malta; his daughter, Stephanie (Daniel) Breeyear of South Glens Falls; stepdaughter, Carin D'Ambro of Waterford; stepson, Brent D'Ambro (Natalie); seven grandchildren, Kacey Guarneri, Teagan Hathaway, Bailey Thibodeau, Madisen Thibodeau, Eric D'Ambro, Christopher D'Ambro, Elizabeth D'Ambro; sister-in-law, Bonnie Mustone; two nieces, Heather and Kelly Mustone. Funeral services will be 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013 from the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh and at 9 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Friends and relatives are invited to attend the burial with full military honors at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will take place at the Gardner Earl Crematorium, Troy.
