Gauvreau, Robert CLIFTON PARK Robert M. Gauvreau, age 83, of Clifton Park passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Born on November 11, 1929, he was the son of the late Stella and Frederick Gauvreau. Born in Troy, he graduated from Watervliet High School and earned a B.S. and MBA from Siena College. He also was a graduate of RPI's School of Management program. Robert served in the United States Navy on the USS Midway from 1948 through 1949. He worked for Norton Company, retiring after 42 years. After retirement he worked as the Clifton Park receiver of taxes and did consulting work for three years in Mexico and South Korea. In his earlier years he loved to hunt with beagle hounds that he and his wife bred and trained. In later years he became a competitive road runner. He was a former member of the Hudson-Mohawk Road Runners. He was a track and field official for 12 years. Some of his happiest times were those spent with his family and friends at the family cottage in Lake George. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Ellen Gauvreau; and brothers, Frederick and Arthur Gauvreau. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen Gauvreau, (formerly Helen Murnane); sons, Robert F. Gauvreau of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Daniel J. (Suzanne) Morrison Gauvreau of Malta; daughters, Judith (Thomas) Bethon of Latham, and Cheryl (Rick) Caza of Ballston Spa; and sister, Rita Fahey of Largo, Fla. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Stacy, Ryan, Alexandria, Cory, Nolan, Thomas II, Aubrey, London, and Annika. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Catricala Funeral Home Inc., 1597 Route 9, Clifton Park, with a funeral Mass on Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Crescent. Burial will be in Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northeastern New York Chapter, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205.
