Moore, Robert W. FEURA BUSH Robert (Bob) W. Moore, 88, died peacefully at home, January 26, 2013. He had been in the loving care of his daughter, Connie Ortiz, her husband, Manny and their children, Jeremiah, Enoch, Jessica and David for the past three and half years. The remaining immediate family members wish to express their deep appreciation for the kindness and attention they provided. He was born in Bridgeport, Conn. on March 4, 1924 and the second child of Arleigh and Anne Lawrence Moore. He is predeceased by his sister, Arelene Sheehan. A graduate of Manchester High, Conn., he enrolled in the University of Connecticut to pursue engineering. World War II interrupted his studies and he enlisted in the Army. Flight training followed from January to August 1944. He was commissioned into the Army Air Force August 4, 1944 and was sent to Douglas Air Field in Arizona. He served on the European front and was awarded the Air Medal for "Meritorious achievement". Following the war, he went into the reserves on June 27, 1946. He received an honorable discharge from the reserves on September 28, 1946 as 1st lieutenant. His business career spanned over six decades, starting with Felt and Tarrant as a salesman in western Massachuetts. He worked for a number of years for the engineering sales corperation of Wellesley Hills, Mass. in the marketing of structural pneumatic components for machinery industrial equipment. He founded Northern Pneumatics of Defreetsville, N.Y. in the early 1970's which distributed air cylinders, air valves, air fittings, air tubing and the like, all for using or conducting compressed air for pneumatic compressed air for pneumatic operated machinery. The loving father of two families, Bob leaves behind, Beatrice McDonnell Moore and their children, Linda Anne Boudin and her husband Ed of N.H., Sean Moore and wife Judy of Texas, Robert M. Moore and wife Sandy of Conn., Timothy Moore and wife Debbie of Mass. and Michael Moore of N.H. Rosemary Gier of N.Y. and their children, Connie Ortiz and her husband of N.Y., John Moore of N.Y., Beth Moore and her partner Amanda of Calif. and Sarah Granger and husband Aaron of N.Y. Bob had 21 grandchildren, Anne, Jonathan, TerriLynn, Nathan, Jill, Chris, Kim, Kathy, Joel, Rebecca, Christopher, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Thomas, Allison, Jeremiah, Enoch, Jessica, David, Caleb, and Lily. Bob also had 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 11 to 1 p.m. with a service to follow at 1 p.m. at Durant Funeral Home, 741 Delaware Ave., Delmar.
