Baker, Scott R. STEPHENTOWN Scott R. Baker, age 54 years, passed away suddenly Monday, December 31, 2012. He was born in Troy and lived in the city during his youth and resided in Poestenkill for 27 years before moving to Stephen-town in 2006. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy, class of 1976. Scott has been employed by Momentive Performance Materials, formerly G.E. Plastics in Waterford as an industrial firefighter/ control room operator for 22 years. He was a communicant of St. Henry's Church in Averill Park. Scott was a member of the Hendrick Hudson Fish and Game Club, member of the Stephentown Fire Department and Ambulance and former member of the Poestenkill Fire Dept. and Ambulance. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved nature, but his biggest love was his family. Devoted son of the late Donald J. and Bertha Lahut Baker, Sr; beloved husband of Denise T. Helwig Baker; loving and dedicated father of Jared Scott Baker and Renee' Elizabeth Baker; cherished brother of Nancy (Robert) Gustin, Charlene (Richard) Gilooly, Patricia Mallory and Donald (Patti) Baker, Jr.; brother-in-law of Judith (Frank) Breselor, Robert Helwig and David (Chris) Helwig. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral will be from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer Friday morning at 8:30 and 9:30 at St. Henry's Church, Averill Park where the Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial will be offered. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Troy.
