Dwyer, William E. Jr. SLOANSVILLE William E. Dwyer Jr., 79, of Sloansville passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 in Guilderland. He was the beloved husband of DeSylvia Woolley Dwyer. Born in Troy, William was the son of the late William E. and Josephine Pillsworth Dwyer Sr. William grew up in Watervliet and was a 1954 graduate of LaSalle Institute in Troy. William was the owner/ operator of the Good Gun Buys gun shop in Sloansville. He previously worked as a salesman for several car dealerships, including Latham Ford. He was a member of the Middleburgh Rod & Gun Club, the Bethlehem Grange, the National Rifle Association, Cherry Valley Hunting and Fishing Club and the Elks Lodge of Esperance 2507. He was also a member of the Gallupville Evangelical Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife, William is survived by his children, JoAnn Dwyer of Watervliet and William E. Dwyer III,of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Jillian (Trevor) Tice of Florida, Brian Dwyer of Boston and Leanna Dwyer of North Carolina; his great-grandson, Deeclan Tice; several nieces and nephews and his feline companion, "Jodi." A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11 a.m at the Cummings Funeral Home, 643 Third Ave., Watervliet with Pastor Peter J. DeBartolo Sr. officiating. Family and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions in memory of William be made to the Fields of Grace Outreach Water Mission Program, PO Box 48, Middleburgh, NY 12122.
