Canale, William V. GLENS FALLS William V. Canale of Glens Falls, passed Tuesday, September 11, 2013. He was eighty years old. A highly regarded and widely respected attorney for fifty-two years, practicing law in the tri-county area, in both the state and federal courts. Born in Fort Edward, on January 13, 1933, the son of Ulisse and Sabina Canale, he was a lifelong resident of Glens Falls where he lived and worked until his death. Vince was a graduate of Glens Falls High School, class of 1951, where he excelled in football and academics. He played football under a full scholarship for the University of Pennsylvania and Syracuse University. While studying law at Syracuse University, he worked as a newspaper reporter for the Syracuse Post Standard, covering the courts and emergency police stories. He returned to Glens Falls after graduating from law school and became an associate and then partner in the firm of Wein, Greenberg and Canale. He later established his own firm where he practiced for a time with his sons. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the combat zone of Korea from 1953 to 1954. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Combat Infantryman's badge. He reached the rank of corporal in the Army. Vince was a member of the Warren County Bar Association, and was elected president in 1980. He was a member of the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is predeceased by brothers and sisters, Helen Canale, Ann Canale Knickerbocker, Anita Canale Caruso, Nicholas Canale, and Carmen Canale. He is survived by his children, Jeffrey T. Canale, William V. Canale and his wife, Lisa M. (Danaher) Canale, Dr. Gina M. Canale, Gregory V. Canale, Mia T. Canale; his brothers and sister, Ulisse Canale Jr., Alfred Canale and Gloria Canale Brilling; also his grandchildren, Matthew Canale, Phillip Canale, Sabina Dixon, Sophia Canale and William V. Canale, III, Gian Canale; his best friend and mother of his children, Marlene Canale, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013 at St. Mary's Church, 62 Warren Street, Glens Falls. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Regan Denny Stafford Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.
