Calvin C. Inman Obituary
INMAN Calvin C. Inman, 88, passed away May 2, 2014. He was born in Jacksonville, FL to Leonard H. and Lucy T. Inman. He attended local schools until enlisting in the US Navy, July 1942, serving honorably until WWII ended. Later, Calvin enlisted in the US Air Force and served throughout the Korean Conflict, taking an honorable discharge afterward. Soon after, Calvin enlisted in the US Army, serving during the Vietnam Era and eventually retiring on disability. Back in civilian life, he entered the trucking business as an owner-operator, traveling through-out the U.S. until health issues forced his retirement. Calvin was predeceased by his parents; son, James C. Inman; wife, Lula Carter Inman; sisters, Marcelle Phillips and Winifred Crosby; and a brother, Leonard H. Inman, Jr. He is survived by sisters, Sylvia Newton, Lola Jay (Eddie), and Barbara Bergyn; brothers, Thomas R. Inman and Warren D. Inman; niece, Shirley Schramm; nephew, Thomas R. Inman, Jr. (Connie); and many other nieces and nephews and their children. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Christian Family Care Home for the wonderful care they have given Calvin during these last years. The family will receive friends at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073 on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 12 until 1 PM.
