Clarence Zeke M. Zerbest Obituary
ZERBEST Mr. Clarence Zeke M. Zerbest, age 83, died Sunday July 6, 2014 in Clyde E. Lassen State Veterans Nursing Home St. Augustine, Fl. with his family near his side. Mr. Zerbest was born July 21, 1930 in Sapulpa, OK, to the late George and Zelma Tritt Zerbest. He's a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. He retired after 26 years in the United States Marines as a Master Sgt., serving in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War where he earned the Bronze Star. Mr. Zerbest enjoyed all aspects electronics, was technical minded, patient and loved flying airplanes. He was 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and served as a Eucharistic Minister in his church. He enjoyed fishing; however spending time with his grandchildren was his most enjoyable time. He is predeceased by his parents and former wife Rosalie Brush Zerbest. Family members include his wife of 21 years, Mary Zerbest of Jacksonville, Fl., children, Stephanie Zerbest, David Zerbest, Daniel Zerbest, Joesph Joe (Rebecca) Brittain of St. Augustine, FL., sister; Rose Villins of Huntsville, Ark., grandchildren; Nathanael and Emily Brittain and several nieces and nephews. Mass services will be held on Thursday July 10, 2014 at 10:00 am in Blessed Trinity Catholic Church with Father John Guarnizo as celebrant. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Veterans Cemetery at 12:30 pm. The family will receive friends an hour before service at the church.
