As an officer in the Army he trained at Fort Benning and served in the Korean War. Edward returned home from the war in 1952 to marry his childhood sweetheart Barbara Cocks. In 1959 he began his lifelong business career in Jacksonville, first in the commercial electrical business with Commercial Electric Company and then with Regency Electric Company. In his years at the electrical companies he helped build the skyline of Jacksonville, performing the electrical work on the Independent Life Building, Bank of America Building, Avenues Mall, Nemours Children s Hospital, Jacksonville International Airport and Mayo Hospital as well as many other projects. After selling his company to his children in 1990 he continued his entrepreneurship with home building in many different communities; including Queens Harbor and Glen Kernan. Throughout his life he enjoyed many different interests including aviation and his favorite of all, golf. He was fortunate enough to have four holes in one and stayed healthy enough to shoot his age multiple times. He was a proud Florida Gators supporter and cheered through good times and bad. The greatest love of his life was his wife and best friend, Barbara as well as his family. He is survived by his wife of sixty years and his children; Alan Green (Pamela) and Nancy Hanna (Nathan). In addition, he leaves two sisters; Jackie Woodard and Joanne O Grady and five grandchildren; Matthew Green, Kevin Green, Cole Hanna, Drew Hanna, and Chris Hanna and numerous nieces and nephews.
