Elizabeth Richardson Coleman Obituary
COLEMAN Elizabeth Richardson Coleman, 94, died on June 20, 2014, at Community Hospice McGraw Center Jacksonville after a long illness. She had lived at Cypress Village for seventeen years. She was born in Waleska, Georgia, on July 8, 1919, was a graduate of the University of Georgia, and worked as a teacher, a school principal, and an office administrator. Elizabeth was married on September 6, 1942, in Fairmount, Georgia, to Charlie Calhoun Coleman, a graduate of the United States Military Academy. She and her husband celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary before his death. During Col. Coleman s military career they lived in over one hundred houses, apartments, residence hotels, mobile homes, and converted barracks, from Oregon to New York State and from Europe to Asia. In each residence Elizabeth created an environment that immediately felt like home to her family. Elizabeth is survived by her daughters, Anne Troutman of Memphis, Tennessee, and Mary Belisle (Ginger), and her son-in-law, Kenneth Belisle (Rear Admiral, USN, retired) of Jacksonville. Her five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren called her Redtop to acknowledge her red hair. Elizabeth will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery with her beloved husband Charlie Coleman (Col, USA, Ret.) a decorated veteran of WWII. The family wish to thank the administration and staff of Cypress Village and Community Hospice McGraw Center for their care.
