BUGGS Attorney Harrel Tyrone Buggs, age 64, transitioned peacefully on March 21, 2013 Attorney Buggs was born February 10, 1949, to Andrew and Marie Buggs. He grew up and was baptized in Central Baptist Institutional Church. A 1966 graduate of New Stanton High School, he graduated from Florida A&M University in 1970 with a degree in Political Science, and the University of Illinois College of Law in 1973. He began his law career as a Judge Advocate General Officer in the US Army from 1973-1977. After serving in the military, he worked as a Duval County Public Defender, and in 1979 he began his private practice in Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Sandra Buggs Patterson, June Buggs Davis and Andrew Buggs, Jr. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, JoAnn Mason Buggs; three daughters, Dr. Kammi Henderson (Jimmy), Dr. Harrelyn Woodfaulk (Rory) and Janni Marie Buggs; five granddaughters, Kahtya Henderson, Nikkiah Henderson, Jiliah Henderson, Camille Woodfaulk and Cymone Woodfaulk; siblings, Clifford Buggs, Sr. (Miriam), Charles Buggs (Georgia), Karen Jenkins (Godrey) and Barbara Buggs Hugley; mother-in-law, Janie Mason; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, March 29, 2013, in Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, 1620 Helena Street, Jacksonville 32208. Visitation: Thursday in Mt. Bethel from 4:00-7:00pm.
