Herbert Simon Feinberg Obituary
FEINBERG How are you feeling? and he d always say, With both hands! If you knew Herbert Simon Feinberg, you would hear this cheerful, ready reply, no matter how bad some of his days were these past years. He lost his battle to his many illnesses at 6:22 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2014, at 92 years of age, with his loving and ever devoted wife, Marilyn, by his side. Herb was born on August 29, 1921, in Philadelphia, PA, to Samuel and Rose Feinberg. He graduated from Hillsborough High School, in 1939. He graduated from the University of Florida, Class of 1942. He was commissioned in the Navy in 1943, then transferred to the Retired Reserve, with a grade of Lieutenant Commander in 1965. After the service, he was an energetic salesman until he retired at the age of 70. He enjoyed playing and watching the game of golf. He was an active member of Arlington Baptist Church, ushering, serving on many committees and traveling with the Trailblazers. Herb is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his children, Patsy Feinberg, three other daughters; granddaughters, Michelle, Lori, Gabby, Emily; and four great granddaughters; and step-family, Debbie (James), Jim (Cynthia); grandchildren, DeeAnn (Fredy), Jaimie (Matt), John, Amber (Charlie); and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Harold Bubba Feinberg, and his wife, Ruth. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jax, FL, 32211. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at 1:00pm at Arlington Baptist Church, 6009 Arlington Road, Jax, FL, 32211, with Eddie Lockamy officiating.
